Kolkata, Dec 24 (PTI) People in Kolkata experienced cold winds for the second day today as the mercury dipped to 13.3 degrees Celsius, a degree less than normal. Meteorological department here said the chill in the air remained throughout the day because the difference between maximum and minimum temperature was only 3 degrees. The maximum temperature was 16.3 degrees Celsius, which was 11 degrees below normal and the weatherman blamed cold winds from the north for it. Dense fog was reported in the morning and drivers faced difficulties. Meteorological department director G C Debnath issued a warning of dense fog tomorrow, particularly in the districts. Yesterday was the coldest day of this season so far as the mercury level touched 12 degree. The weather forecast report said the weather is unlikely to change on Christmas day tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 23 degrees and 13 degrees Celsius respectively. PTI NIK KK ASY
