Total generation - coal and gas plants - on that day stood at 710.54 MUs, also the highest for the current financial year (2013-14), NTPC said in a statement.
"In 2012-13, NTPC stations achieved gross generation of 232.028 billion units (BUs) as against 222.068 BUs in the previous year, registering a growth of 4.49 percent," it added.
NTPC operates 16 coal-fired and seven gas-based projects, among others.

The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 14.55 per share as per the quarter ended September 2013. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 10.53. The latest book value of the company is Rs 97.49 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 1.57.
